Meet the Staff

Mary Ann Upchurch 
Executive Director 

Mary Ann joined the MBA in 2021. She has almost 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership with extensive experience in revenue generating initiatives, large scale budgeting, volunteer engagement, training and professional development, marketing and results driven outcomes. Mary Ann is a native of West Tennessee. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Communications and Public Relations. A graduate of Leadership Collierville, Mary Ann lives there with her husband, Lee and they have 3 sons. Seth is a recent graduate of the University of Memphis and Noah currently attends the University of Memphis. Ethan attends Collierville High School. Their dog, Cotton, and their cat, Patches, also reside at the Upchurch household.

Jan Reisman
Membership & CLE Director

Jan joined the MBA in 2024. She has extensive experience in marketing and event planning at such service providers as FedEx, Archer Malmo Advertising, First Horizon Bank, and Temple Israel. Jan received her BA in English at the University of Michigan and her MBA in Marketing at the University of Memphis. Jan and her husband Marc are lifelong Memphians. When not planning a CLE, Jan most likely is hanging out with family and friends, walking with her dog Teddy, playing pickleball, watching a movie, or visiting her children and grandchildren in beautiful Utah. Kelly Swan                                                                                                                
Communications Director                                                                                                 

Kelly joined the MBA in 2018 as Marketing Coordinator and became Marketing Director in 2020. She received her BA in Journalism from the University of Memphis.  She has worked in the nonprofit marketing field for 10+ years as a digital marketing assistant at MIFA and the YMCA. Her background also includes several years in retail for major corporations, including an illustrious stint as assistant team leader and cheesemonger at Whole Foods. When she’s not binge-watching Law & Order episodes to understand how the law works, she enjoys arts and crafts, reading, and playing outside with her son. 

Lauren Gooch
Project Manager

Lauren is currently the project manager and loves creating special experiences for members whether it’s planning a social event or a unique CLE. Though she has lived all over the country (9 states!), she considers herself a Southerner at heart. Lauren is a proud Ole Miss and Alpha Omicron Pi sorority alumni. You can find her on the weekends chasing her beautiful daughter around on her pony, traveling to visit family, or in The Grove cheering the Rebels on!
