• Founded in 1874, the Memphis Bar Association is a voluntary professional
  organization of 2,000 attorneys, judges, law students and other legal
  professionals. It is the largest and oldest bar association in the area.
   
• Primary areas of activity include networking and social interaction among the
  legal community; continuing legal education; providing pro bono outreach;
  educating the public about the judicial system; and encouraging diversity in the
  legal profession.
   
• Most MBA members work in Shelby County, but the reach extends to northern
  Mississippi and eastern Arkansas.
   
• MBA members encompass a wide variety of practice areas and settings, from
  trial attorneys to in-house counsel and government attorneys.
   
• Most MBA members are in private practice ranging from solo/small
  practitioners to the largest law firms in the area.
   
• Our largest areas of practice are bankruptcy, litigation, family law, labor &
  employment, and probate & estate.
   
• We have significant member representation from the largest firms in the Mid-
  South.
   
• The MBA is the only local association with the ability to get a message out to a
  substantial segment of the legal community; not limited to one particular
  segment or demographic of attorneys/judges.
   
• Sponsors have a variety of opportunities to meet lawyers and get their
  message out.
