Summary

A criminal record or suspended driver license is a barrier to many Shelby County residents obtaining gainful employment or secure housing. This session will cover the process of determining whether a client qualifies for an expungement, and if so the process for obtaining an expungement for the client. Further, the session will cover the process for assisting in the reinstatement of a driver's license if suspended due to the client's criminal record. Finally, the session will cover cost waivers if necessary to petition for expungement or for driver license reinstatement.

The goal of the CLE is to provide knowledge to pro bono attorneys who volunteer for legal aid or advice clinics.

This program is FREE to those who agree to take a pro bono case (please note your information will be shared with Memphis Area Legal Services).
