Presentation begins with brief introduction to the types of barriers encountered when we need to ask for help or we offer help to those in need. We will be addressing the legal profession's unique gifts (intelligence, analytical skills, re-framing, etc.) that can be lethal if used against us; evaluation of how the 'if I ask for help' stigma can keep us silent and sick. (Secrets keep us sick). It will introduce experiential therapy as it will be utilized in the presentation; provide norming of emotional activation and grounding techniques that can be used to stay present. Group guided visualization w/ transition to individual expression of disease/stigma; transition to closing the activity and presentation w/ group processing utilizing experiential model representing the subjective units of distress (SUDs) scale.
