California was the first state to sign the Act into law on July 3, 2019 followed by New York, New Jersey, and Colorado. It is our hope that Tennessee will soon join these states in passing the Act.
During the virtual webinar, you will have the opportunity to hear from Senator Raumesh Akbari, who is responsible for introducing a Bill in the Tennessee Senate that would amend the Tennessee Human Rights Act to prevent hairstyle discrimination based on race. We will also have a panel discussion encompassing several members of the legal community to speak on the importance of this Bill.
