Take a Pro Bono Case
If you have the time and are interested in taking a pro bono case, we encourage you to contact one of the following organizations to assist them in meeting the legal needs of our community.
Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc. (MALS)
Since 1970, MALS has been committed to equal justice for all people, providing aid to nearly 8,000 people in distress each year. For a list of ways to volunteer through MALS, click here or contact Linda Warren Seely, Director of Pro Bono Projects, at 901.523.8822 or firstname.lastname@example.org . MALS boasts several special programs for pro bono opportunities including the "Gray Knights" whose members have reached age 65 and committed a minimum of 15 pro bono hours annually to assist clients of MALS.
Community Legal Center (CLC)
An independent non-profit agency housed at Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA), CLC provides the working poor better access to the legal system through information, representation and mediation. Among the programs of the CLC is the Immigrant Justice Program to assist individuals with representation before the Immigration Court. For more details on what the CLC does and how you can get involved, click here or call 901.543-3395.
