CLE Seminars
The MBA will be offering a series of seminars called “Basics for the Experienced Practitioner”.  These seminars will provide practical tips and advice for lawyers who want to explore different areas of practice. More information coming soon!

MBA Sections

MBA sections, ranging from ADR to Wills & Probate, provide opportunities to learn about the latest developments in that area and network with your colleagues.  Each section has its own listserv so members can quickly get help with any questions they may have. 

     MBA sections are made up of attorneys in similar practice settings who come together to share insight and experience. The knowledge gained through this type of working relationship is invaluable to an attorney’s career.
     Each section has its own governing officers, and meets on its own, calling on the MBA staff for budget and administrative needs and CLE seminar operations. When you join a section, you will be added to the section’s mailing list and receive regular updates on meetings, events, and CLE seminars pertaining to that practice area.
     To join a section, simply log in to the MBA website and select the section(s) you would like to be a part of in your profile and click save or contact MBA Membership Coordinator Charlotte Gean at (901) 527-3573 or ckgean@memphisbar.org .

Pro Bono

Handling a pro bono case is a great way to learn about a different area of the law – and it will make you feel good too!  Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS) and the Community Legal Center (CLC) need attorneys to handle cases ranging from domestic violence to immigration asylum, and they provide training and support for attorneys who are new to an area.  Contact Linda Warren Seely at MALS (255.8417; lseely@malsi.org) or Meg Jones at CLC (543-3395; megclc@gmail.com) to find out the different ways you can volunteer.
