Feeling technologically challenged? Let us help you.

Do you know what DNS means? Do you find yourself scratching your head when asked for your URL? Can you really explain what your office server does and how your Firewall functions? Memphis Lawyer magazine would like to help you translate some of the tech terms (a.k.a. "Geek Speak") that sometimes leave you befuddled in an effort to improve your technological competency and simply save you a few headaches. If there is a term you would like to see included in our "Geek Speak Dictionary," please submit it to Dottie McCallen at dmccallen@memphisbar.org by close of business on Friday, April 5th. There is no term too simple. All submissions will be kept anonymous.

Please make sure he or she has this information to share!  Click here to download a calendar of 2013 clinics that you can forward to others in your office or print and post on your office bulletin board.

Please make plans to attend the Health Law Section seminar, "Getting on Board the Omnibus: Discussion of the HIPAA Final Rule", on Friday, April 12th. The panelists will provide practical tips to attorneys on compliance steps that need to be taken in order to avoid a breach of patient information and a subsequent governmental investigation.
