Law Week Launch Party Tomorrow

Law Week 2014 will get rolling tomorrow (Friday, April 25th) with the 7th Annual Law Week Launch Party in Court Square. The party will be held from 5-7 pm and attendees will enjoy free drinks including soft drinks, wine and beer, food by Central BBQ, Lickity Split Ice Cream, and music.

All members of the Memphis legal community are invited to attend and welcome to bring families and dogs. All attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good or monetary donation for the Mid-South Food Bank to the event. The Mid-South Food Bank provides about a million pounds of food every month to people in need in our area. The most pressing needs are canned meats (including tuna, stews, chicken and dumplings, chili, Spam, soups), peanut butter, canned fruits, canned veggies and canned fruit juice. Any non-perishable item is welcomed, but no glass containers please.

It's Not Too Late To Attend Bench Bar

The 2014 Bench Bar Conference is less than 2 weeks away (May 7-10), but it's not too late for you to attend!  Judges from the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court, Circuit Court, General Sessions Civil & Criminal Courts, Criminal Court, and Juvenile Court will be there. This is a great opportunity for young attorneys to get to know the judges in a relaxed, informal atmosphere and earn all 15 hours of CLE credit. 

The early registration fee (before April 30) is $225 for attorneys who have been practicing 2 years or less; $275 for those practicing 3-10 years. Southwest has flights to both Panama City Beach and Pensacola for under $400 round-trip.  Rooms are still available at Tops'l and we can help if people want to share a condo to reduce the cost. To see the updated brochure and register, click here.
